We could easily have a 765kv grid that supports a nationwide transportation/logistics system that is energy dependent. But they told you that was socialism and you had to pay for the Epstein class to get another jet instead.

True in part. We do things like underwater cables which are, for all intents and purposes, "underground" construction. But you're right that there's a difference in trying to bury 69kV lines vs. main haul 765kV lines and at some point you just run up against physics as a hard problem.
