So, Banksy bought a used yacht, repaired it and retrofitted it to serve as a rescue boat to save migrants in the central Mediterranean. The whole project cost the artist $860,000. Since 2020, the boat has saved more than 3,800 people.

More takeaways:
• @TomDavidsonX is a lovely and thoughtful debate opponent with a lot of interesting ideas about concentration of power
• the @80000Hours team is great to work with—I think their efforts made this go much better (and involve less trepidation!)

I'd love to see more debates about important topics in AI safety, and was excited to hear that @80000Hours was going to try out this format. I was more trepidatious about being invited to be in it, making it also my own first public debate...but I actually loved it!

Loved the book & just watched this excellent #80000hours interview with @iandunt.bsky.social - useful for anyone bemused by how shit Westminster can be...

Mild warning - very much a "feature length" interview (but with an excellent level of sweariness from Mr Dunt)
