MSX was supposed to be the ‘standard’ for home computing. In the UK, that standard was ‘virtually unknown.’ which has left me a bit obsessed about what I missed out on. If anyone can share the best things about MSX I'd love to hear about it.

Acorn had a habit of being ahead of its time - first with RISC computing, then with its own demise. Imagine if the Archimedes had been marketed as well as the BBC Micro.

My first computer was an Acorn Electron. Like a cheaper BBC Micro, but lacking it's speed.

The CPC 464 came with a monitor, unlike most rivals. Did this make it ahead of its time, or did it limit its adoption compared to cheaper options? I think it might have made an all-in-one purchase a simpler option for non tech savvy parents? Pricey though.
