She is called 'Significant Signs' doily a design by Jessica Jacquemin. I found the pattern in Decorative Crochet Magazine No 85. Made using size 20 thread in the shade Jade. It is 31.5cm diameter after blocking. She is called Astraea, a table cloth measuring 26.25cm in diameter after blocking. I used size 30 thread in a Mocha Beige shade. Sadly no designer was credited. I found the pattern in Crochet Monthly Magazine No 41, it is also in Magic Crochet Magazine No 23. This little dress is called 'Like A Pink Cloud Dress'. A design by Mon Petit Violon. I used 100% cotton in 8Ply (DK), in a colour called claret. The 'Yak Sweater' a design by Mon Petit Violon. I made this using 100% wool in a 8 Ply (DK) yarn, the colour is called Carbon. The pattern is in the book Timeless Textured Baby Crochet by Vita Apala.

Well, I got about this far with my Indian cross stitch infinity scarf, & then thought, “I should check the length!” It was a bit too snug, so I pulled it out & started again.

On the plus side, I got to see how the pattern looks in the round & I think it knits up beautifully!

Experimenting with yarn wraps in Indian cross stitch pattern (for knitting, not cross stitch) using the yarn I bought last week.

Four wraps seems too long; two makes the fabric too tight. Three seems to be about right!

Dark purple knitting in progress - my hand on the left holding a yellow tape measure in place . It’s 17cm almost 7” from cast on - but I’m working it in one piece to the armholes and it’s extra large so very slow to grow! Not my design - a commission for a stage production. 8ply Estate from Morris & Sons (sheep wool) My pattern & knitting A soft brown jumper / sweater is shown on a dressmaker’s mannequin in a garden. One arm is extended so you can see the ‘batwing’ sleeve shape. The neckline is U shaped - stocking stitch with ribbing bands. My design & pattern & knitting Yarn is 8 ply sheep wool from Bendigo Woollen Mills- their ‘Classic’ in ‘Mineral Mix’.

A mid blue, hand knitted, m cardigan jacket is shown lying flat on a blue & white striped textile. I made this one for my grandson - to a 1950s pattern - I think it was the size for a 6mth old. Double breasted, no collar, long raglan sleeves, fancy stitch panels follow the raglan seams and the front edges (&round the back neck…) 4 contrasting buttons - plastic - shaped like ladybirds 🐞 but white with navy 4ply (sock weight) wool from Bendigo Woollen Mills A once white (but now stained) sleeveless, hand knitted dress is shown lying flat on an emerald green mohair shawl. This was adapted from a very old Patons pattern - 1920s or 30s - part of a large layette set, this sleeveless dress was meant to be a petticoat 😳. It fitted my granddaughter at about 3mths and it got a lot of wear … The bodice is in 1x1 ribbing then it flares into a full skirt- top half in stocking stitch the rest in a lace pattern - panels with ears-of-wheat or fern fronds - the hem has a wavy edge. I adapted to put buttons down the front of the bodice. There simple crochet trim (scallops) round armholes and neck. 3ply wool from Bendigo Woollen Mills Lying flat on a glass topped timber table is a bright red, lacy, hand knitted jacket for a baby. Made for a niece 15 yrs ago Dropped shoulder set-in sleeves, buttons up the front, collar - and all in panels of lace (looking like fish tails - sort of ) 5 red plastic buttons This was to a 1980s pattern in the booklet - Cleckheaton - 9 Baby Handknits 8ply (DK) wool ‘Classic’ from Bendigo Woollen Mills
