our first day ended up practice for the setup and kind of a wash on color results. i did more testing the next day with a much smaller pot; the streaky button is 2-3 hours in 8tsp of dye in 8cups of water. the clearer one is 5 minutes in 4tsp in 1cup. yay science!!!

Dinner tonight: a new type of Mama Sita’s spice mix! This is the Pang Kare-Kare mix, and I made it with chicken instead of oxtail. Cook chicken in 8cups water until it has reduced by 75%, add beans, eggplant, bokchoi, peanut butter, and the spice mix. Cook until bubbly. Eat!

Freestyled slow cooker black beans today based on the white bean stew I made a few weeks ago. Flavors are pretty good though I could have used less water. Went w/8cups for 16 oz dried beans (same as white bean stew), but it’s much more watery. May purée this time & drop to 6 c water next time.

Barb was a gem, she passed a couple years ago so I hand out her recipe to everyone 🙂 my picky kids ate the whole thing in a couple days and demand more every time they see a zucchini lol
I do think it doesn’t work nearly as well with frozen zucchini unless you fully prepare the filling, too mushy!
