Should Airbus listen to Emirates and build an A380neo?

The A380-800 and A380neo, one a realised aircraft and one a plane desperately sought after by Emirates. How do the planes stack up? What are their stories and their legacy?

Emirates has reaffirmed its interest in a new A380 model, dubbed the A380neo, to improve efficiency and help renew its fleet.

So is this the A380neo @nachochip.bsky.social?

The A380-800 has ceased production, but Emirates wants a new model in the A380neo. Are there any reasons why Airbus won't proceed with the airline's requests?

Analysts have significantly discussed the idea of an Airbus A380neo, and Emirates, the largest operator of the A380-800, is driving this dialogue.

Emirates has one of the largest widebody fleets in the world. However, the airline once requested that a new aircraft, the A380neo, be built. Why?

My favourite lowkey aviation drama at the moment is Tim Clark trying to bait Airbus* into putting up half the development cost of the A380neo
*DE/ES/FR/GB - Trump's fucking-up of the global trade order is absolutely going to help with this, as if they'll care about breaking WTO state support rules

The A380neo and A380plus were pitched by Emirates & Airbus as the answers to the poor sales of the A380-800, but what was truly the difference between the two, and why did both ultimately fail?

The A380neo and A380plus represent two endeavours by Emirates and the European planemaker Airbus, which have very different promises but the same outcome.

Emirates has called for a new Airbus A380 model, dubbed the A380neo again, not for the first time. But why does the carrier seek such an aircraft?

Emirates, the largest A380 operator, wants a new model. But since production has ceased, why does the major airline want an A380neo?

That was my main impression as a passenger. Like I was in some bubble that was not a part of the outside world.

And just pride of a great engineering achievement. I remember obsessively reading news of it (“A380 Navigator” archived: web.archive.org/web/20080913...)

I wish we had an A380neo :(

You should really do a piece on if folding wings & 65m gate compatibility can be the key enabler for a revived A380neo+ as Tim Clark & Emirates dream about.

Combined with lower cost of smaller series due to supply chain developments, can AB make profit by selling 350 w 380?
Good holiday topic!

Airlines would buy the A380 if Airbus gives it a makeover, Emirates boss says
Emirates' president, Tim Clark, tells Business Insider other airlines would order a more-fuel-efficient version of the four-engine superjumbo jet.

An A380neo, though from the article it really sounds like a complete rethought of the aircraft with lighter materials. Could be interesting; added airport capacity still lags demand (a la Heathrow 3rd runway).

What do you think?
