Arachne Press says Afonydd (Rivers) was inspired by success of A470: Poems for the Road/Cerddi’r Ffordd
Its volume of bilingual poetry celebrating the A470 road, which zigzags through Wales, proved a surprise hit.

This huge Daphne bholua is the largest specimen I know - must be 10ft+. It grows beside an otherwise ordinary terrace house in Glan Conwy on the edge of the busy A470, an antidote to traffic the thundering by. The scent is magnificent 🌱

Years ago, when I got my first SatNav, I tried it out on the Route 66 of Wales - the A470 from Cardiff to Llandudno 😁 the longest road in Wales. It winds through the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia, with breathtaking views. This image is of the West Shore, Llandudno - took the M5 back though😁
