Visiting Mississauga, 780,000-person suburb of Toronto, to mourn the death of AB1903 and the condo construction that could have been in CA (we will just ignore the giant parking lot in foreground)

The lack of condo construction in California, as you've pointed out previously, may be contributing to this shift.

Hopefully AB1903, housing construction defect reform, will be sufficient to spur the construction of more entry level housing like condos.

Thank you Asm. Wicks!

Hopefully AB2252 will pass too (single stairwell 6 stories).

SB79 + AB1903 + AB2252 may be the answer to the missing middle.

He voted Aye on AB1903 so I'll allow it today.

why are you going to kill AB1903

We are starting to see some townhouse projects as well as a 3-story, 6 unit condo in Berkeley. More projects will come if these first ones succeed.

If passed, AB1406 & AB1903 (two California bills that remove barriers to building condo buildings) also help create more homeownership opportunities.

Watching @buffywicks.bsky.social on #AB1903, condo defect reform, is an absolute masterclass.

The thing everyone’s always assumed was impossible, the problem that even advocates thought was unsolvable: she’s somehow turned it into a policy juggernaut that, fingers crossed, seems unstoppable
