I've been doing the release music by any means while struggling against corporate fuckery thing for so long that I used to tag all my posts back on places like SoundClick and AcidPlanet with "Support Music Not Itunes!"

Please respect that I approach whatever I do with diligence and experience

Remember doing a remix of their work on AcidPlanet back in the bad ol’ days…

That microgenre also experienced a short revival around the turn of the millennium, when Acid Pro and Acidplanet became popular among amateurs.

I think I found it. about 700 gb of acidplanet website backups. (audio/data included)

I found it via Magix discussion (2018)

#sundayvibes #throwback Acid... #SonicFoundry... the OG... of Vibes.... Who remembers this? 😂👊 I know @durandurancom.bsky.social does... I still have their AcidPlanet packs they released...

Those AcidPlanet remix competitions were the worst though, because it was the same five producers who won over and over, and threw hissy-fits when they didn’t win. Really instilled a healthy disdain of producer snobbishness and elitism at a young(er) age.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=xr5g... there are WORLDS in here, and they do not come from your bourgeois notions of "fidelity"

I swear i'm gonna finish something one of these days!

I used to do it all the time when AcidPlanet was around.
I had a couple albums worth of songs i'd posted.
Hell, i even have a "song" on an officially released compilation.
(granted, it's by a label that no longer exists. But still...)

Poking through the Internet Archive again, and I found a fun guitar cover of Girl From Ipanema, originally uploaded to a now defunct site and sung by someone who'd fit right in a 2000s era rock band. I won't be using it, but I wanted to share it here: archive.org/details/acidplanet-audio-00628275

Austin had posted a track on ACIDplanet called Across The Sea and posted it as an open collab (meaning anyone could add anything to it). Eventually Randy added some drums while I made one with lead guitar. Then Randy wrote some lyrics and we invited David to sing them for us. That’s where it started

19/08/2002 me on #ACIDplanet back in the day... RIP AP

this is it!! still slaps!! lmao thanks for making my day

I think "escape from normalcy" you had marked as the "second" album on acidplanet, all tracks prefixed with 2.X - "major malfunction" was the 1.X album (and i want to guess like ~12 tracks total iirc)

@douibyorthst.bsky.social here's the strangest inquiry you'll get for a long time: any chance you know of any surviving files from the first "the main offender" album?? i can vividly remember the closing track (and the "welcome back kotter" theme sample at the end)

Years ago, I spent a bunch of time on AcidPlanet. It was my first lesson in how our platforms are not really "ours." grovesprof.wordpress.com/2025/01/21/a...
