Another illustration from @masterlan12.bsky.social (paid for by a friend and reader, since money was tight). After cleaning out Oogway's room, items of sentimental value found in a locked cabinet leave Tai Lung feeling overwhelmed. #KungFuPanda #ADifferentLesson #furry #art #illustration
It is a shadowy nighttime scene, with the only illumination coming from the stars and faint moonlight outside and a lantern inside (not depicted). Sitting on a bed in the Jade Palace bunkhouse, with the only other visible furniture in the empty room being a small wooden dresser in the corner, Tai Lung gazes at the mattress beside him where three items are laid. On its side near the far edge is a stuffed snow leopard toy, positioned nearest the viewer is an action figure of Tai Lung, and spread across the mattress directly next to the snow leopard is an unrolled silk painting. The latter depicts a small expanse of grass, a tree standing against a starry sky, and Master Oogway sitting in the lotus position with cub Tai Lung in his lap, adopting the same pose. On the bottom portion of the silk are the hanzi characters for the turtle and snow leopard's names. With his shoulders slumped, paws dangling between his knees, and pensive expression, it's clear Tai Lung is distressed by the items, and the tears starting to trickle down his cheeks testify to this even more so.

Tai Lung and Tigress from "Kung Fu Panda". The snow leopard, still injured after his battle with Po, is wrapped in bandages. The two stand in a darkened cell, light from the barred window casting bands of sun and shadow across the two as she confronts him. Tigress wears a suspicious, harsh glare while Tai Lung appears relaxed, arms crossed, a frank and rather smug look on his face.

The panda Po sits beside the snow leopard Tai Lung. The latter is dirty, bruised, and wrapped in multiple bandages around his right upper arm, both forearms, around his head to cover his left eye, and around his torso up to his right shoulder. Po has his arm around Tai, looking friendly, warm, and encouraging while the snow leopard appears dejected and resigned, but also pensive.

First pic of this year from @masterlan12.bsky.social (once again paid for by my friend/reader). During his first fight with the Wu Sisters, Tai Lung finds himself wrapped in the coils of a meteor hammer...and shows off his strength and badassery to get free.
#KungFuPanda #ADifferentLesson #art
The scene is a grassy shore of a lake whose waters are covered by lily pads, while trees and mountain peaks rise in the misty background. Close to the viewer, the snow leopard assassin Wu Xiu stands poised on the left with her Wind and Fire wheels, blue eyes narrowed and jaw clenched in fury. To the right and close to the shore, Wu Chun is caught in mid-leap with her own wheels, flying through the air toward Tai Lung who stands tall and proud alongside the water. Wrapped around the snow leopard's chest, shoulders, and upper arms is the coiling rope of a meteor hammer--but he has tensed and flexed all the muscles of his upper body, especially his massive biceps, and so snapped the rope, freeing him from the metal balls which are shown falling to the ground. With golden eyes blazing, Tai Lung looks at Chun with a cocky smirk that clearly says "Bring it."

Art by @masterlan12.bsky.social.

archiveofourown.org/works/175095...
Elemental chi training on Wu Dan! With the backdrop of forest-covered pinnacles, vast sky, and billowing mist behind them, Tai Lung and Shifu face off against one another on the grassy, rock-covered plain of the sacred peak, beneath the boughs of a tree. The snow leopard is depicted mid-leap, pushing off the ground with his right foot while both arms are spread wide, orange-red flames surrounding his fits. The red panda is shown ducked low and dodging back evasively, his bamboo staff angled in a reverse-grip in his right hand behind him. Unlike their battle at the end of the first movie, both are clearly enjoying themselves rather than acting out of rage or stern resignation; Shifu is smirking a bit evilly, clearly anticipating the coming move and ready to show his son just how much of a great kung fu master he still is, while Tai Lung's brows are furrowed in focused determination, fighting to win, but his smile is one of excitement and self-confidence, not arrogance or cruel menace.

Tigress, recovering in her dormitory room at the Jade Palace, is sitting beneath her covers in bed, still wrapped in bandages around her right arm and chest, forearms, and her head so as to cover her left eye, while Tai Lung sits at her side. In her paws, Tigress holds a tiger doll wearing a white silk da-ao dress and a beautiful crown-like headdress. She gazes down at it in wonder and gratitude, appearing on the verge of tears, while the snow leopard leans toward with his paws between his knees, his kind and gentle expression one of hopeful encouragement.

Chapter 31, "An Understanding". #fanfiction #KungFuPanda #ADifferentLesson

Art by @masterlan12.bsky.social.

archiveofourown.org/works/175095...
On a darkened ledge deep within the abyss of Chorh-Gom, three figures are arranged in tableau. Tai Lung, in the center, sits once more wrapped in bandages around his side, chest, and right shoulder as well as his right biceps and both wrists, an expression of sympathy, compassion, and understanding on his face as he rests his left paw on the shoulder of Vachir. The rhino is fatally wounded, a dao saber buried in his belly and spearing out his back, blood soaking both entry and exit wounds, and an expression of pain is understandably on his face, but also one of regret and sorrow. Lying beside him on the ledge is a sheathed dagger. On the far left, Tigress is down on her hands and knees, watching the scene with an expression of confusion, concern, and disbelief.

Last pic of the year from @masterlan12.bsky.social (and also paid for by my friend/reader). Having chased Wu Jia out to the edge of the Valley, Tigress instead meets all the assassin sisters. She gets Xiu to agree to a one-on-one duel...and it's brutal. #KungFuPanda #ADifferentLesson #furry #art
The scene is a grassy clearing in the middle of a birch forest, the tall slender trunks with their silvery bark crowding the shadows around the bush-lined open space. The snow leopard assassin, Wu Xiu, stands to the right, facing the viewer, clad in a swirling black cloak and a straw rain hat, holding a pair of war fans--the one in her left paw snapped shut, the one in her right paw spread open, a pattern of dragons on its facing side and its blades stained with blood, other than one which reflects the light in a bright gleam that sets off Xiu's nastily evil, twisted smile. In the foreground on the left, Master Tigress is down on one knee and a paw, almost in a feral position, although she still wears her usual outfit. Blood soaks both forearms, her right thigh, and her back from awful, gaping wounds, as well as covering and dripping from her left fist as she rubs it against her red-stained muzzle. Her eyes are tiny pinpoints of enraged, animal fury.

Tai Lung from Kung Fu Panda, looking particularly massively buff. From the look on his face, with raised eyebrow, furrowed brows, and a slight sneer, he's either contemptuous of the one he's regarding or offended by something they've said or done, and has no problem confronting and calling them out for it. Tai Lung from Kung Fu Panda, with a very fierce, enraged look as he works out his aggressions by furiously punching and shattering some of the training equipment from the Jade Palace kwoon. Screenshot of Zeng, looking quite befuddled, frozen in the middle of speaking but uncertain what to say next.

Above the surface of the Pool of Sacred Tears, Po stands in a tai chi Crane pose atop a spout of water carrying him aloft. As he concentrates with eyes closed, ribbons of golden chi wrap around him, spread across the pillar of water, and swirl up into the sky where they form oval images of the panda's memories: on the left, Shifu gazing with a warm, fond smile and Viper beaming happily; in the center, Tai Lung with his paws bandaged being fed dumplings by Po during their chi training on Wu Dan, and Po being embraced by Mr. Ping; and on the right, Tai Lung shaking hands with Zhuang during their introduction at the Ghost Festival and Tigress giving a kung fu bow (from after Po's battle with Tai in the first movie). In the town square of the Valley of Peace, a gallows has been erected, and positioned beneath the scaffold on the trapdoor with the hangman's noose around his neck is Tai Lung. Standing before him on the gibbet, Master Shifu has planted Oogway's staff beside him with a firm, determined expression, and emanating from it is a golden globe of chi bursting outward. The spiritual energy is buffeting the snow leopard's fur, as well as sending numerous townsfolk (pigs, geese, and bunnies) flying outward, tumbling over, or ducking down behind sleeves.

Tai Lung and Po in the Jade Palace kwoon. Just having navigated the obstacle course just as poorly as he did in the movie, the panda is collapsed on his stomach, battered and bruised and covered with soot--but laughing at the humor of it all. The snow leopard, having fallen back against the wooden wall and slid to the floor, has his arms wrapped around his sides and is laughing hysterically. In the foreground on the left, Master Shifu watches with his hands tucked in his sleeves, a small smile on his face as he silently approves of this breaking of the ice, another step in the two former adversaries becoming friends.
