'Brilliant and breathless' agreed. www.theguardian.com/books/2026/o... But I can't agree that there's any 'loss of momentum' in the essayistic passages about Paul Ekman’s discredited Facial Action Coding System. They enrich the narrative, problematising assumptions of truth based on appearances.
