“Breaking Plates and Smashing Patriarchy” 🙄 … is 10 shorts from 1903 to 1913 about rebellious women preceded by a contemporary 20-minute docudrama.

Saw a special screening (thanks #AFISilver #SearchlightPictures) of #TheTestamentOfAnnLee who brought the Shaker movement to America. Fascinating picture by the scriptwriters of #TheBrutalist. Don’t expect a musical (music is good) do expect to see how religious fever can be drawn from experience)

Maybe not the strongest , but I think one where I felt the most camaraderie, what a screening of Skinamarink at AFISilver. There was a jump scare and a few of us physically jumped in our seats, and then a bunch of people , including me, laughed, because of how much it affected us.

There’s supposed to be a number of sites around the country showing it in 70mm (assuming they can find some projectionists and projectors as most cinemas are digital only now). We’re quite fortunate having the AFISilver so close to us in DC.

Together is a nice motto for this year's #AFIFilmEU festival. Today's pick, 'The Great Arch' a story about the 1980s project to build a new Arch de Triumph in Paris where the lead architect discovers the joys of dealing with bureaucracy and probably goes mad (at least, I'm assuming that happens).
