EV Mandates Are Back: Ericka Perryman on California’s Latest Clean Air Act Waivers
This week on the Labor & Energy Show w/JDoc & Krausey, Ericka Perryman, Vice President of Communications at the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM), joins the show to discuss the latest battle over California’s emissions and electrification policies. The conversation examines six California Clean Air Act waiver rules that the EPA has transmitted to Congress for review under the Congressional Review Act, including Advanced Clean Cars I, greenhouse gas emissions standards, small off-road engines, and regulations affecting ports and marine vessels. Ericka shares AFPM’s perspective on why the organization is urging Congress to act on the six measures, the potential implications for consumers and manufacturers beyond California, and the broader debate over how much authority California should have to establish emissions standards that can influence policies nationwide.

fwiw, AFPM (American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers) put this out a couple days ago as well.
Why a diesel export ban would backfire
It may seem logical that if the United States stops exporting diesel, more fuel will stay here and prices will fall. But more diesel in the United States does not necessarily mean lower prices at the ...

I'm not saying this analysis is incorrect – it very well could be 100% accurate! – but, at the same time, I'm not sure I trust the AFPM on this topic.

So, Politico has a new energy newsletter and it's sponsored by an American fossil fuel lobby. There's a reason why public trust in mainstream media is plummeting.

In July 2025, three trade groups urged OSHA to remove the deadline, claiming it would cost the industry over $3 billion and have little impact on safety.

OSHA took their word for it, saying removal of the compliance deadline is "not likely to result in a meaningful increase in risk to workers.”
