It was super nice. I don't know if these suffer from the ABC disease; Airmatic, by comparison, has simple struts that cost pennies.

New local MB “specialist” replaced all AirMatic components on a 06 E500 because the car wouldn’t raise up, now the car is with me with the same issue.
It’s crazy to me that a tech would replace all those parts without even checking for power first. Central Gateway was corroded knocking out the CAN

I was really impressed at the difference rack and pinion steering made to the overall driveability of the thing, that's the key takeaway I got from older reviews.
Rust is the big thing, the bottoms of the doors could well evaporate 'sud-style, SBC being crap, Airmatic leaks, it could bankrupt you.

The closest thing I've been able to pull up that sounds like a fit is an "airmatic fault code 5194, indicating a short circuit that can cause a sudden drop in vehicle suspension"
But that feels a bit like getting lost in the weeds so I don't know 😅 confused humming 🎶

I like these (used to get one as a loaner when E was in at the French dealers) Our dogs hated them. Couldn't take to the much more unforgiving ride after Airmatic 😀

I would expect the S Class to be better - it was something to the tune of £30-40k more expensive for a model with Airmatic.
