Did you know how much alike are Ren Ruyi in #AJTL and Tang Sai'er in #SwordMaidenfromtheMoon?
- formidable sword fighters;
- charismatic leaders;
- engaged in deadly espionage;
- each has an admirer whose love they cannot requite;
- masters of own fates.

I did that, watched AJTL after TPOB and let me tell ya - it was a wild ride.
Also it pretty much solidified my now full-blown crush on Liu Yuning.

Season 2 of Bookie for OFMD season 3 because that's apparently what literally happened (or at least the excuse they gave DJ) 🙃 Plus AJTL, TGA, and HP. Also the incomplete season 2 of Made-up Adventures of Dick Turpin which they kept trying to push us into watching as an OFMD "replacement" 😡
Sandra and I invented a new game to play while watching TV. It's called "What show's seasons would you sacrifice to have more seasons of a show that got cancelled?"
The name is too long, but the game seems to be a GREAT way to make people scream at each other.

Ooooooh! I *have* ~seen~ him but I haven't watched AJTL yet
It is on my list to watch, but after watching & learning to ❤️ #HouMingHao, I'm interested in learning more about actors like #ChangHuasen in #wuxias. I don't want to miss out

FYL understands the physicality of comedy in the same was XZ does. And FYL's comic timing in AJtL is really excellent, like give the man all the good comic roles!

Yes, AJTL had a tragic ending but it's a logical ending that fits the narrative. It made me shed lots of tears, both on 1st and 2nd watch, but worth it. It has a spellbinding plot with humor & perfect casting (notable side character actors include #AlenFang & #ChangHuasen, both my favorites).

What I wrote about it at the time: I was spoiled going in so when I watched AJTL, I was looking to see if a) the character deaths were foreshadowed and b) they were narratively justified. The answers are a) yes and b) kinda sorta but it should've been done better. mydramalist.com/profile/lili...

Also in the case of AJTL, there were so many outside factors that led to the ending, like the sudden edict to keep dramas to 40 episodes, the hate campaign against Liu Yuning and agency interference. That's why the production company made A Dream Within a Dream as a response to all the garbage.

I swear that I wasn't even thinking about it at all JKGL;AJTL;KAJT I know it's hard to believe but I just really like unicorns a lot and I like the designs of a lot of nun characters in games/anime (Trinity Blood did something to my brain chemistry as a teenager)
