#ALAAC25?
The whole ALA conference weekend was a great reminder of what a wonderful community we have to tackle the most daunting challenges ahead. Many thanks to everyone who made time for me (and special shoutouts to those currently on Bluesky, @ibizoboi.bsky.social and @yeseniadraws.bsky.social)! #alaac25

I was fortunate to be able to join the BROWNSTONE creators to celebrate this year's Printz Award at #alaac25 -- so proud of this creative team, @samuelteer.bsky.social, @marjulia.bsky.social, and @ashantifortson.com; art director, Mary Claire Cruz, and original editor, Erika Turner (in absentia)!

Libraries are a lifeline. In a time where they are often under attack, we must do our part to support these vital institutions.

I'm thrilled to announce I will be presenting with Vicki at #ALAAC25 showcasing the importance of gaming with a disability at the largest library conference in the world.
I am excited to be presenting "Adaptive Arcade at the Library: Video Games are for Everyone" with @stevenspohn.bsky.social at #ALAAC25. If you are attending, check out our session: cdmcd.co/8YnyBB. Hope to see you there!

While masking numbers are low (as is expected sadly) it has been great "seeing" and hearing from folks at #ALAAC25 who are masking, offering masks, and seeing others in them <3

- @inaljnaomi.bsky.social & Sana & family
If you are attending #ALAAC25 and masking do feel free to tag us (or me, @inaljnaomi.bsky.social ) in so that we can share and celebrate you caring for others <3

My local library system is rural & has 48 libraries. I also have a card at the next library system over (also rural) with 42 libraries. I saw zero tweets about any staff of any of the libraries attending #ALAAC25. There's a massive gap in who attends vs who needs the opportunities the most.

Really curious if anyone from my local library system, or the surrounding ones, was able to attend #ALAAC25? STLS? OWWL? FLLS? These are in Central and Western NY State, btw.

This has actually been a really nice chosen-to-be left behind #ALAAC25. I wasn't expecting to see many masked folk on here, and the % is still low, but I did see quite a few folks in their wonderful masks, authors, staff members, and attendees!

I just showed this to my masking 7 and 5 year olds and they loved the masks too and even said one lady looked "like You, Ammi" (me) #ALAAC25

Lots of people commenting on poverty and access don't actually live in poor communities, but we have/do. It has always been bad, but shout out to everyone doing outreach and mask blocs and just doing what they can to fill those holes - including those at #ALAAC25 wearing and sharing(new) masks :)
