Getting a little nerdy with the 3D Printer. Picked up this third party filament dryer for my AMS. I love the dryer on my AMS2/H2D so thought I'd give the older one some love.

I recently came back to RaceRoom after 8 years with AC, ACC, AMS2 and LMU. Lots of cars and tracks, colorful menus. But besides this… It is so aged, ugly, featureless. What did KW do in the last years, other than increasing prices?

this to say that AMS2 is lovely on a fundamental level, but as ever i just cannot vibe with a "do whatever you want" kind of sim racer, which is give-or-take Most Of Them. i'll happily keep it in my library bc the greyed out Career button incites hope for some near or far-off future

That's good news, so many laid off folks need a way to detox. It would be interesting to see an aggregate across the more involved sim racing titles like RRE/PMR/AMS2/LMU/GT7/BeamNG, potentially as a data point of how many "super serious" racers play compared to the "market size" of their sales.

They beat AMS2 to adding a proper (unlike Forza’s) historic Laguna Seca. But tbh, while the content selection is very good, hard to believe “biggest ever” will turn in to the player counts they want/need.

Bad news: I have to work on Sunday.
Good news: I get Thursday off in exchange, so I'm gonna get the AMS2 server setup for what I'm calling Pick Up Relaxed Racing (or PURR for short).
Casual low-stakes races for drivers of all skill levels, probably be around 7pm Central time.
