I saw that @amsat-dl.org had downlinked photos from NASA's DSCOVR satellite.
AMSAT = Amateur Satellite.
I think "Ooh, its far away, but if an AMSAT group did it maybe I can do it from home!"
Turns out AMSAT-DL have a 20 metre dish at their disposal. Bit big for me lol.

I saw that @amsat-dl.org had downlinked photos from NASA's DSCOVR satellite.
AMSAT = Amateur Satellite.
I think "Ooh, its far away, but if an AMSAT group did it maybe I can do it from home!"

On 25.03.2009, AMSAT-DL sent radio signals from Bochum Observatory to Venus, receiving an echo after nearly 100 million km. This marked Germany’s first planetary radio echo and set a record in amateur radio, surpassing Earth-Moon-Earth reflections by over 100 times. (try subtitle translation on)
