I had #AMostViolentYear at second on my 2014 top 10 list. Here's my actual review of the film itself: http://www.moviefreak.com/artman/publish/movies_amostviolentyear.shtml. Stunning.

Jessica Chastain burns through the screen. Oscar Isaac mesmerizes. JC Chandor does it again. #AMostViolentYear http://www.moviefreak.com/artman/publish/movies_amostviolentyear.shtml

Have you seen #AMostViolentYear yet? You should. It's one of 2014's absolute best. http://www.moviefreak.com/artman/publish/movies_amostviolentyear.shtml

#AMostViolentYear got kind of lost amidst the usual award season nonsense a few years back, which is a shame because it encapsulates the current US climate very well. Issues of capitalism, corruption and race are tightly woven through this very original take on the mob drama.
