New position statement on pain in the older person just dropped via ANZSGM. I particularly liked point 3.
"3. The gold standard for pain assessment is self-report. A person reporting pain should be believed, even in the absence of demonstrable pathology likely to explain the pain."

Congratulations to AIML Associate Professor Johan Verjans, who delivered the Artificial Intelligence and Geriatrics Plenary at #ANZSGM2026. His presentation showcased AI research with SAHMRI and SA Health to improve healthcare outcomes for older Australians. Well done, Johan!
