Asserting that his party was ready for a probe into Group I examination held during YSRCP rule, he asked whether the TDP-led coalition government was prepared to subject the DSC issue to the same scrutiny. Addressing a press conference, Jagan Mohan Reddy said, contrary to the allegations levelled by the coalition, APPSC 2018 exams were conducted in a transparent manner and as per Court directives, giving no room for any misappropriation.

This follows a directive from the Andhra Pradesh High Court, which on February 11 ordered the formation or reconstitution of an SIT headed by an officer not below Additional Director General of Police rank to ensure a fair and time-bound inquiry. The SIT, empowered under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, is led by APCID Chief Dr Ravi Shankar Ayyannar, with SP (EOW) K Chakravarthi as a member. It can co-opt additional officers from any department and will verify preservation of selected candidates' answer scripts and check for possible tampering. The team reports directly to the High Court by March 16.
