Just saw a paper at #APSA2025 that I'd love to wave in the face of every local elected official who has backed down on a housing vote because segregationists complained.

Those people have no idea what eventually happened with the project nor does their political behavior change based on the vote.

#APSA2025 PSA: although this was nearly impossible to anticipate, I, a person who gets queasy on both buses and boats, also got queasy on the SeaBus. If you are in a similar boat (as it were), be sure to sit facing forward.

But also: SeaBus!

#APSA2025 in Vancouver was a fine event but we need to rethink organizing political science conferences in Canada. It puts additional barriers for non-U.S. citizens and perpetuates inequalities in the field. No wonder many international students on F1 visas could not attend.

This sounds super interesting! Any chance you’d share the document with other #APSA2025 participants? I’d love to check it out and be mindful about where I’m spending my time/money while I’m there.

Although remotely, I was very happy to present my job market paper at #APSA2025 on the politics of knowledge in global democratic assessments. Many thanks to my discussant, Amanda Licht, as well as the panel and attendees (on a Sunday morning!) for their thoughtful feedback.
