Voters are sceptical because of #TheNerdReich. The #Tech is in the wrong hands and people know it now. We can't buy #APlaceToStand from them. #AI is also kind of underwhelming in its less scientific applications (and starting to see evidence of overhype for science but waiting on that one).
It’s not about “telling the story”.
It’s about making AI/ML/Algo/blah usage feel fair, safe and wise.
Which is not going to happen unless it is, and as far as I can tell, it isn’t.

Exactly my concern. While I'm not convinced #Australia is ready yet, I can see the same patterns emerging in the Australian Right that we've seen in the #USA. They're putting the same #Infrastructure in place. Lobby groups, Thinks Tanks, politicians, scholars, etc. #APlaceToStand for the next steps.
