#QueerPrompts I love this. I'll do both!

Foreshadowing - 1st snippet is from Such Sweet Sorrow. ( #s3 ) This is a lighthearted moment, but it foreshadows something big.

Scary - 2nd is from Gaps in the Mist, a short story in the Uncanny and Uncouth collection.

Was someone walking around our campsite? It's not like we were off of the trail, but also there were no real areas to set up camp otherwise. creakcreeeeeeakSNAP I gasped, then covered my mouth. That was definitely something moving outside. Quietly, I wriggled t[wards the side of my tent that almost touched Josiah's, trying not ti alert whatever was out there. "Jojo," I whispered quietly. His back pressed against mine through the tent and he whispered, "No," sharp and urgent. creakcreak shufflestepdrag My heart began to thunder, eyes pulsing with a dull gray in the darkness.
