I’ve never been a big drinker. When I do drink, I’m a very lightweight social drinker. I haven’t had anything since I moved a month ago. Haven’t missed it. Went to the Arcana (www.arcanadurham.com) the other night to see Ann Arader play, and had the most delicious mocktail called rose “milk” punch.

I heard Jane speak just last week at Arader Galleries. What a heartbreaking loss at a time when the world needs scientists, conservationists, and gentle souls more than ever. 💔
Jane Goodall died on Wednesday at 91 after a life spent revolutionizing the study of primates and then bringing her global fame to the cause of conservation.

Here are snapshots from her life and career.
Jane Goodall: A Life in Pictures
The primatologist gained scientific acclaim for her work with chimpanzees and then later used her fame to champion conservation.
