Zpěvák k tomu uvedl: „Moji drazí přátelé, nastal čas rozloučit se se životem na cestách. Po více než šesti desetiletích bude The Final Encore skutečně mým posledním turné. Hudbu, kterou miluji, zpívám od svých devatenácti let a měl jsem tu čest vozit ji po celém světě a hrát ji pro vás všechny. Dalo mi to život, který předčil vše, co jsem si kdy dokázal představit, a doufám, že jsem vám na oplátku zanechal krásné vzpomínky.“
K tomu dodal: „Dovolte mi tedy využít této příležitosti a poděkovat vám za to, že jste mi umožnili prožít tento výjimečný život. Doufám, že se ke mně připojíte, abych vám mohl poděkovat tím nejlepším způsobem, který znám… hudbou a zatraceně dobrou show. Uvidíme se tam.“
