I should have made this up a long time ago, but another dog recently passed of ARVC (not one of ours this time) and it prompted me to get my butt into gear. If anyone hears of a sleddog passing suddenly please feel free to share this infographic on the off chance it winds up being ARVC.

I wanted to pop on to give a giant thank you to everyone whose donated to our ARVC journey - it truly means a lot. I think Comet has finally realized Solstice isn't nearby, as he has had a lot of mournful howling lately despite the extra attention I've been giving him.

Today I finally got into my vet to see what's up with Rukia as she hasn't been making my "A" team lately, and that's weird for Rukia. Confirmed my suspicions that she's positive for lyme, ugh such an annoying disease, but better than a mystery like ARVC.

I suspect Trooper is SHPN1 affected, and I will be testing him asap to confirm (I just haven't yet with other expenses taking priority). He also comes from ARVC bloodlines, so anyone who takes him needs to be willing to get a necropsy if something were to occur for us to further our ARVC research.

Our poor Egg was neutered yesterday. While he’s a beautiful, good natured lad, the potential for carrying ARVC means he’s not a breeding prospect. I’d also like him to gain a few pounds, and neutering should help with that.

They didn't share in our heartbreak when ARVC was written on that page once the first necropsy came. That when it came a second time, it wasn't just about one dog, but a line of dogs.

Hug your pups tight. The other day Aly was stealing toilet paper from the bathroom and causing her normal shenanigans. Now today she was off and when I got to the evet she was in grave condition and unlikely to make it even with a transfusion. IMHA, ARVC, and everything else just fucking sucks.

Pearl & my wife got home earlier today, I’m on dog duty tonight while my wife goes to meet her new horse as it arrives at the stables.
Pearl is now 4 years old. It’s been about 18 months since her ARVC diagnosis, we consider all the time we get with her since then as extra bonus.

Even though I can’t ride long distances anymore because of ARVC, shorter e-bike rides became the norm. Our local rail trail (G2G) in the fall is just close to perfection.

I was tempted to continue with 5 dogs, but then the vet team detected a heart murmur on Storm. It wasn't detected at the vet check on Friday early afternoon. And you all know our battles with ARVC. I crumbled in that moment. I won't deny I cried. And I scratched.

Thanks everyone, and sorry for the late night vent. It's just frustrating to have something out of your control thrown at you like some kind of taboo. It literally is not something I can control. There's no genetic test to prevent ARVC.

Race season is over for us and I can finally focus on ARVC again. I found a great cardiologist that I want Orbit to get into, and we're getting the ball rolling on our holter tests with spring training. We also have birthdays!!! Galaxies were 3 on 03/12, Dragons 1 on 03/12, and Shirou 2 on 03/13!

Blitz had his cardiologist appointment at Cornell today. I wanted to get an ECG and echocardiogram done to make sure there weren’t any lurking issues ever since the threat of ARVC appeared in his lines. Happy to report his heart looks completely normal.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us these past couple weeks. I admit it's really sucked but this community has helped me stay strong and focus on our goal of figuring out ARVC for the future. I definitely have felt cared for and supported and I so appreciate that. Cute picture of Yona for tax.
