But people have been trying to do this for more than a decade (cf ASAPbio) - how will this do better?
September 13, 2026 at 9:55 PM
Last year CWTS, ASAPbio, DORA and the International Science Council organized a workshop in Pisa to discuss coordination of research assessment reform and scholarly publishing reform. The workshop participants have now published a paper outlining their vision on how to realize this coordination.
Both research assessment ✍️and scholarly publishing📝 need reform.

This paper outlines strategies to coordinate these movements by aligning agendas, amplifying existing efforts, and promoting shared learning to pave the way for effective, sustainable change.
