Yep, ASCAT-B and ASCAT-C are going since 2012 and 2019. The Level 2 swath data are available.

Advanced Scatterometer (ASCAT) overpasses between 2123z-2207z this evening -- widespread storm and hurricane-force winds returned with #StormEowyn, with some retrievals up to 80kt 🌬️
Really cool non-tropical feature off the coast of Portugal this evening. I glued together an ASCAT pass that shows the feature - no fronts. Very good setup for a subtropical storm, let's see what happens to it in the next days!

We got a nice partial hit from ASCAT a bit ago. Still an elongated trough, with the northern end sticking out of the convection. Still has some work to do but seems to be overshooting the models so far

For the PacNW, the latest satellite imagery is in on the cyclone from ASCAT-B, which measures surface wind speed and direction over the ocean. It indicates >60 knot sustained winds wrapping around the south and eastern part of the low, which is still well offshore. Forecast looks well on track.

The sun has risen over #Invest96S which is doing a lot better. ASCAT confirms it is likely a tropical storm at this point (~45kts). Next Name = #Robyn

Here's another new feature: regional ASCAT views, because there isn't always an invest to look at. You can choose a tile from the map or just navigate with the arrows. I've also added maps of vorticity and divergence to make it easier to see the strength/organization of a circulation
