I think nearly everyone would take a pill for a 40% reduction is ascvd events. The trial also pretty substantially underestimates benefit.

My favorite dissertation paper is out!

TLDR: Discrimination in healthcare is associated with ASCVD risk.

The novel part is prospectively looking at discrimination specifically reported in healthcare. Like all studies, there’s more nuance than the title.

Well, they’ve gotten to the idea that human tissue logically must contain all of the nutrients required to sustain humans and seem quite recalcitrant to the idea of dietary lipids playing any role in ASCVD, so I think they’re pretty close

Had phone intake interview today to possibly get myself enrolled into another Eli Lilly clinical trial. My Lp(a) a dangerous type of lipid particle is super high, 224. They have a pill Muvalaplin that lowers it by up to 80%. I'll know soon if I qualified. It'd be a 5 year(!!) ASCVD trial.

Meemaw was very clear that she would want everything done to reduce her ASCVD risk profile. She told me to make sure they run as many tests as they could think of. I remember her saying—her exact words—“You tell them if my CHA2DS2-VASc is two or greater then I wanna be anticoagulated!”
