Although this started with me whining I have received many replies from pro-AI mufos confirming that the thing that's wigging me out is real and I'm not just missing something: it really is a black box. There is no ATmega 328p datasheet

Nick Electronics made a massive ATmega48 microcontroller (with an actual ATmega48 inside) that doubles as a fully functional wireless phone charger.

you can now flash an atmega entirely from your browser* glasgowembedded.github.io/glasgow-webu...

* getting files to/from the virtual filesystem left as an exercise for the reader, bearing in mind that `pyodide.FS` is an Emscripten filesystem object

Had this idea last night to replace the ATMEGA in this arcade spinner with an ESP32 and make it fully wireless. It presents as a composite HID mouse + keyboard.

Debugging the SFC to CD mechacon interface. Timing to work out on the PLD side to get reliable reads/writes each way. The scope shows the individual nibbles of an ACCESS command being transferred to an ATMega microcontroller that's standing in for the real mechacon chip.

Didn’t get that far, but I did program a GAL and hook up the 573s to the atmega.

Code needs fixing, but I’m tired and that’s a job for tomorrow.

TIL those cheap $15 multi-tester things? Don't like a 15,000uF 25v capacitor attached w/out it being discharged first.

Oops. The ATMega went "pop", the tiniest of holes in the die is now present.

(Also, the dead TS-711A is still not alive; something is Very Wrong with its power supply circuitry.)

Oh boy, I haven't used this my particular project in more than decade! 😀 Still works. Based on well known back in the days in certain circles "6-kanal Lichtorgel FFT Atmega".
P.S.: this is test in garage, so, not my crazy gears rack you see in other videos.

A project I am going to resurrect at some point. MIDI Stylophone interface! It clips to the keyboard of a classic stylophone and allows you to control it via MIDI using an Atmega328p microcontroller.

Running FreeRTOS on an ATmega:

RAM: 18.2% (used 1116 bytes from 6144 bytes)
Flash: 18.3% (used 9007 bytes from 49152 bytes)

Now I can use app timers, queues, mutexes, and, of course, tasks :)
