The thing about the classic "game that starts as a walking sim about exploring a cave, then a Shocking Discovery establishes the real genre" conceit is there's no limit on what that real genre can be. "Dungeon crawler" is traditional, of course, but there's no rule that it can't be "shop simulator".

On the first point, I have attended and participated in a whole bunch of large scale training exercise AARs, including AARs with Marine/Air Force attendance. The way that the MEU CDR and staff talk about their CERTEX in the documentary sounded canned to me.
