I am applying a new heuristic: Henceforth, whenever I receive an email (including from a colleague) that is tone-deaf (in the bland pseudo-professional sort of way) or which totally ignores the point of the earlier correspondence, I will just assume it has been written by AI... 🤷 #academicslop
