A reminder that the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines success criterion 2.2.2 Pause, Stop, Hide isn't an instruction to stop making your website accessible and hide, but ensure that any animations etc. stop after a few seconds or can be easily stopped by users. #AccessibilityRegulations #A11y

Please add alternative (alt) text to any images you upload. Otherwise many people can't access the written content. #a11y #accessibility #AccessibilityRegulations

Has anyone tried to gather and analyse accessibility statements across the UK public sector recently (possibly using artificial intelligence)? #accessibility #AccessibilityRegulations

Have you updated your goverment and public sector services to meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines v2.2 yet? It's already being enforced as part of the Government Service Standard, and the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations #a11y #AccessibilityRegulations.

It saddens me that in 2024 I still often advise people procuring software to choose the least inaccessible product. It should be the other way round, products should be competing to be the most accessible and most usable #accessibility #AccessibilityRegulations

I don't have statistics more recent than this, but I suspect the situation is still similar now, and it can probably safely be extrapolated meaning that thousands of the 7000+ government services aren't digital accessible to the minimum required standards.

Really well analysed and clearly and simply explained. Shockingly bad inaccessible output from @figma.bsky.social sites, more than 25 years after the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines were introduced, and the web was designed to be accessible. #a11y #Accessibility #AccessibilityRegulations

If you think of the 7000+ government services, that implies that 2,240+ services probably don't comply with the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations, 4+ years since it was enforced for all new and existing existing websites. #a11y #accessibility #AccessibilityRegulations

It is nearly six years since the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations became law, and four years since all new and existing public sector websites, documents and intranets / extranets had to meet the requirements. Are you compliant? #AccessibilityRegulations
