#Adapation
The during credit promos on this episode of Supertrain were:

Little Women - Rerun of a forgotten TV miniseries adapation
Quincy - Medical drama; actually kind of successful
Women in White - A nighttime soap set in a hospital, ran for three episodes
From Here to Eternity - Another forgotten mini

one of the underappreciated facets of ao3 is being able to watch a movie and then immediately open up the site and see what the main ships in the fandom are. i just have to sit here and question whether anyone wrote old man yaoi of Summerlee/Challenger from the 2001 adapation of The Lost World now

Van Helsing is the best Dracula adapation directed by Stephen Sommers.

yeah I haven't read "movie reviews" for like 15 years or whatever (what is time? exactly.) but I know, somehow, that the majority of film critics thought Jojo Rabbit sucked a dead dog's dick, so.... yeah! go see my new movie please. it's an adapation of Kazuo Ishiguro. please make me your fave again

You know how we do 'who would be the one human in a muppets adapation?' We should do that with literature but 'who would be Wishbone?'

I always thought that if Spooky Month were to get a video game adapation, a point-and-click adventure would be the way to go

The Godfather? Coppola *hated* the book to the point that he stopped reading it when first offered the role of directing the adapation, and he really went to town in terms of cutting the stuff he hated (mainly the sex and sexism) that undoubtedly elevated the film above the less cerebral book

I knew she was doing Narnia but have been so aggressively avoiding the updates that I missed she's doing The Magician's Nephew, an installment of the series that has never gotten even a whiff of an adapation before. 👀👀👀
The first trailer for Greta Gerwig’s ‘NARNIA: THE MAGICIAN’S NEPHEW’ has been released.

In theaters next February.

I remember this adapation being teased more than a decade ago with the first round of films, I'd just kind of assumed it'd go forever skipped (along with Horse and his Boy, which is uh... understandably not likely to be adapted because yikes 😬)

I listened to a 1979 radio adapation of The Real Inspector Hound. Years ago at school I was the corpse in a staff production. Hearing it again I was stunned by how much of Tom Stoppard's dialogue my memory had retained. It's a joy and on BBC Sounds for 4 more days.

47) Leviathan (anime) - this trilogy of books was a cool YA that i read at like, the perfect time so imagine my surprise to learn they did a cgi anime adapation of all three as a single 12ep run

its pretty good! its really directly adapted so it feels kinda flat compared to the book though

I heard it was decent! I might give it a watch sometime soon since its another Hellbound Heart adapation like 1 was and the film is fresh in my head, but I got more stuff on the movie list to get through

Manhunter (1986) As far as I know, this was the first adapation of Thomas Harris's work and maybe one of the least known. I think Red Dragon was a much better adaptation but this is certainly a passable crime thriller, even if it's pure fantasy about the competence of cops

I can't wait for Mike Flanagan's adapation of LOLITA, where Humbert Humbert is just a socially awkward smol bean wanting to be a father figure, and it ends with him and Dolores moving to the suburbs to live happily ever after.

y'all know I love this game, so sign me up for the movie adapation!

Last month saw Kojima walk across the street, a good film adaptation, and plenty of fresh GTA VI news.

@saintsunflower.bsky.social rounded it all up each week, and you can read it all here.

Bah nickel !

Ah, so now youre claiming you only brought up AI because Snyder made a Watchmen adapation, even though your post wasn’t about Watchmen and I didnt even bring that film up until long after you said that AI was as artistically valid as books. Pathetic.

I think she's fine in this one. It's when they just started adapting the games directly it feels off because suddenly it's all very Itchy and Scratchy *and* Poochie.

But again, yeah I'd much rather them just make up a character and do an original thing than just a straight adapation/remake.
