Starting the battle of rebuilding Sora’s confidence
Baby steps from 0 are gonna be so important here

Had to put an adaptil calming collar on him just to get him to take treats from me while out the front of the house
Trainer says the collar wont be forever but just as initial support as we rebuild

Thankfully, Rhys and Phoebe ignore the skybooms. Would Karls wear a thundershirt? Other Corgi frens who have problems with skybooms swear by them. There's also Adaptil, a calming fragrance that comes in a plug-in diffuser. Our vetty lady uses it. You can find them on Chewy or Amazon.

This was my boy’s self-chosen safe spot when he arrived. The bottom shelf of a nightstand.💓
Animals need a place where they feel safe, with:

🛏️ comfy bed/blanket
🌬️ Adaptil diffuser
🔇 noise buffer
😋 food dispensing toy, snuffle mat, lickmat, chew

Allow free access to the safe spot. Never force it.

Hope it helps, Herbert! Winston🌈 hated thunder and fireworks, too. Hoomum used Adaptil plug-in diffusers. Our vetty lady uses them in the exam rooms. No wonder Hoomum gets mellow when we have our check-ups!! 😀

No sé si te lo habrá recomendado ya el veterinario, pero el Adaptil es mano de santo para calmar a los perrunos.

Dogs like people can suffer from anxiety - I’d try the Adaptil pheromone plug-ins, & give your dog gentle verbal & physical reassurance (incl a safe space/crate/bed to retreat to /relax in just for the dog - not used by the cat). But if anxiety persists, see your vet for advice/treatment.

Awww. Puppy is adorable.
I have a velcro kitty, so it is not confined to dawg.
Get yourself an Adaptil plug in and one of their calming collars for him. They release pheromones that should help.
And sign up for doggy training in your neck of the woods. It's as much about you as it is them. ♥♥

His barking last night was only marginally better. He's currently stuffed into a thunder shirt because there was indeed thunder earlier and I ordered some Adaptil spray which probably has a 50/50 chance of helping but bro I'm so tired it's worth trying.

It’s important we have a plan: your human should create a safe, windowless internal space—like a closet or basement—equipped with a calming bed, some white noise, and perhaps a specialized calming vest like a #Thundershirt. If those don't work, your human might consider a dose of #adaptil

Takk!

Social experiment: #adaptil in male locker rooms!
The women’s hockey team declining Trump’s invitation to the White House wasn’t a political statement.

It was a moral stand.

Some men dismiss Trump’s character because they see their own darkness in him.

Women less so, because he represents everything they don’t want to raise in a man.

Also got a adaptil collar after reading positive reviews regarding it and anxiety based resource guarding. But of course. For now she will be behind a baby gate when I'm doing stuff in the kitchen. She can push it open but her resource guarding ain't so bad she cares to

Your dog may need meds too.

The vet said Adaptil can work for really mild anxiety, but for any substantial anxiety best to try medication. He said he wasn’t surprised it didn’t work on Coco.

Her Prozac costs about $20 per month. You may need to investigate pharmaceutical options at some stage.

The Adaptil collar was absolutely useless for Coco. Did nothing at all. Wasted money.

She’s on daily meds now and has been since she was a pup.
She’s still anxious too.

Antidepressants help her, and Gabapentin is good to calm her for storms etc.

Has anyone used any of the Adaptil products for a dog? Thoughts?
February 8, 2026 at 4:18 AM
You have our empathy. Ms plugged in the Adaptil and she’s bought pet remedy from the pet shop. Paws crossed that works. Gentle snuggles to Heidi 🐶🐾😘
December 31, 2025 at 8:44 PM
Well I might come when they’ve finished if that’s ok? I’ve got me pet remedy, the Adaptil is plugged in and I’ve got a thing that goes over me ears 😬🐶🐾😘😘
December 30, 2025 at 9:28 PM
Oh yes! Ms gone and bought pet rescue remedy, the adaptil had been plugged in for over a week and she’s also bought a dog hoodie, that goes over me earyholes. I’m still jumpy if I hear a cupboard door bang shut so dreading tomorrow night 😬🐶🐾😘
