Like so many #addiction treatment providers, I once saw mandated (i.e. forced) treatment as a "necessary evil."
I don't know when I first internalized the idea that evil is ever "necessary," but I'm working to unlearn it now.

A tough last year of residency, topped off by the COVID pandemic in March 2020, threw my post-graduation plans (heal, work per diem, travel widely) into disarray. I learned on twitter that @yaleadm.bsky.social had open #addictionmed fellowship spot for fall. Twitter absolutely changed my career.
It absolutely changed my career and I will miss the good parts.

Just found out the fentanyl positive rate at the two OTPs I cover (~600 pts) is down to less than 10%!! Never thought we’d see single digits given we are completely harm reduction oriented. #addictionmed #medsky

OK #IDsky and #addictionmed sky: many of my patients who use drugs who are in the hospital for serious infections (endocarditis, osteomyelitis) decline enoxaparen for DVT prophylaxis. Anyone out there have procedures/policies about offering alternatives (i.e. DOAC, aspirin, ticagrelor)?
