Nelson ❤️🇪🇸🐾 My cycloptic sidekick. Such a tired, frail, little old man now. I love him to the moon and back.

Me & my shadow. Nelson OTD 2021, recovering from having his eye removed. Had his mojo back 100% the day after the operation. I will *never* understand the extraordinary resilience of such amazing animals. ❤️🇪🇸🐾

13 years ago today we took delivery of our very first rescue Podenco.
We named him Casey on account of his Repsol orange colour, blinding speed, and his frankly ridiculous cornering angles.

He may be ancient, frail, white faced, and one eyed nowadays, but you can still totally see why we called him Nelson 🤣❤️🇪🇸🐾 #podencos #adoptpodencos #skyhounds #adoptdontshop #adoptar

One of my favourite pics of Vinnie. A selfie I took, with him (R) and Nelson (L) up on top of Merthyr Mawr Warren.

As the years pass and Derek’s little snout gets whiter and whiter, there are times where starts to vaguely resemble Paddington but with ridiculous, pointy ears.

Ex Fuera. A happy day 29/12/2011 at Porthcawl with Tudur going round the outside of Casey: they were both so phenomenally, beautifully fast.

Four years today we said goodbye to our enormous Podenco, Bruno. Big as a greyhound, daft as a brush, and on a mission to destroy all rabbits. I love you buddy ❤️

And here's the original photo, taken at Merthyr Mawr dunes.
He's a lot lot older now, lots more white hair and one less eye. And he's still my special little guy ❤️🇪🇸🐾

If you love pointy dogs, then as well as #greyhounds I'd also recommend considering #podencos - Here's Bruno, massive Podenco Canario, sleeping on Nelson, smaller Podenco Andaluz. Bruno gone a while now (Leishmaniasis), Nelson still just about with us at 14 ❤️🇪🇸🐾
