Just had a thought. An artistic collaboration I would have loved to have seen: Gil Kane and Barry Windsor-Smith.

Toppi is amazing, but it's relatively easy to direct the eye when you use large areas of solid white and solid black. It's a different story when you're pretty much only using texturing (grey) to define shapes, and the work still remains clear. That's what's so impressive about BWS.

Time to honour the late great Myra Francis as Lady Adrasta in 'The Creature From The Pit'.

…deconstructing spoilers before they’re invented.
You can watch this on The Collection – Season 17 Blu-ray, or online:

Though the Blu-ray itself has Risen, a more thrilling, classier, higher-budget trailer, I still have a soft spot for 1979’s entertaining piece of fluff.

Lady Adrasta never got the love that she so richly never deserved.
Played brilliantly by the late great Myra Frances.

I love The Creature from the Pit. And genuinely rather than ironically lol. Tom's superb in it and Adrasta is a great villain.

hosts are here to sex up this story with strip clubs, human centipedes, & the minutiae of tentacles. Nyssa gives some bandits a serious bonding experience. Tegan interprets for Erato. Adrasta tries to break up the team. With hammers. With guest appearance by Waris Hussein! (May contain Mr. Blobby.)

The story is great.
I always notice that Adrasta and Karela use Romana’s name instead of calling her “the girl” or “the Doctor’s young companion” which every single other baddie does. Sisters are doing it for themselves, it seems

I love the implication that he stopped mid-adventure to lecture to a (presumably) unseen audience.
