Debating when Aelia gets her big shoulder burn... I think it happens on Final Steps of Fate. And it took more than just a really bad gout of dragon fire to do that sort of damage.
The burns are on her non-dominant side, where she keeps her tools - namely, her Aetherotransformer.

Aelia never actually managed get her (MCH) Automaton Queen properly *automated*. She didn't need to, though -- it's actually being possessed by her (DRK) Darkside, and often operates itself even when Aelia isn't around. Which is occasionally a little bit frightening to witness.

Aelia's aether is unstable, and leaks out of her constantly. This is a pretty serious health concern for her and she needs to replenish it frequently, but funnily enough, it synergizes with her aetherotransformer. All that lost aether is getting collected by the silly little MCH lunchbox.

Aelia was 19 in ARR -- she was only 14 when the Calamity happened and she got chucked through the lifestream.
I don't really commit to how much time passes by DT, just that she's nebulously in her mid-twenties by that point.

You know that thing about the cat distribution system? That's basically what happened with Aelia to Cid and Nero. They're her adoptive dads now, and they don't get a choice in the matter. She's asserted herself in their lives. There's no getting rid of her. She's there now.
