Proof of concept! Dry tintype on 35mm film cartridge!

This is so neat. Shot on the Benson Instant Box Camera

I was hoping to avoid the step, but the cartridges will definitely need a subbing layer, because the emulsion is clearly not adhering well. 😅😅

Best #InstantBoxCam test yet, to go with a new haircut. Shot by my daughter in the evening light. Wide open, f4.5, 1s, rated at 6.

Graded (#2) paper makes a pretty big difference in contrast.

Ready to try out in the world again this weekend, maybe.

First ra-4 reversal in several years. I’ve reaaaally wanted to shoot these in the instant box cam. Didn’t get the color balance quite 100, but close.

ISO 6 after dark is a long exposure time, so two flashes popped simultaneously at 1/1 is doing the business.

Struggling to take some #AfghanBoxCamera photos using mystery photo paper from Ultrafine. Getting eaten up by mosquitos and over exposing everything. Had a much easier go using Harmon positive.

I was disappointed that my daughter was fidgety when I was testing out taking tintypes on the instant box camera and was blurry in this longer exposure. But now I just want to crack out the plastic skeletons and take some intentionally ghostly portraits.

L'afghanbox...suite...après des essais peu concluants, je suis arrivé à la conclusion que j'avais besoin d'un autre système, et je suis reparti sur la base de ce qu'utilise Hans Zeeldieb, à savoir une chambre pliante 13x18 en acajou du XIXeme et une boite-labo séparée.
