Trying to rhyme the logic I voted this weekend and came back home still turning it over still holding my phone what if that was the last time I get that choice I marked my ballot now where goes my voice I sit here trying to rhyme the logic apparently fear needs a side hustle project I hear the experts I share what they say I understand why they see it that way And yes I agree but agreement falls short when I close out the article carrying the thought I understand the words the context the loop but why now is where it refuses to compute Why now are we wondering if voting will last while trying to figure out which link to pass I can follow the reasoning all the way through then sit here with knowing and what do I do I brought my questions I stood in the line I gave it my vote and a piece of my mind I know they are working I know that they care I still have to live with the fear sitting there So why now is that asking too much does anyone else need an answer to touch something to hold when the reading is through and the experts go home to be people too I came for quiet got twenty new lines a title three edits and lost track of time if thinking this crap takes the whole afternoon did I work all day or retire too soon After Wonder • Adia in the Attic © 26

Did we reach them I voted on Halloween in twenty twenty six a year in my head and a country to fix hope came first like it usually will tonight I have questions and hope is here still Saturday afternoon I walked right in last time forty five minutes just to begin today zero wait and I'm glad I got through did we reach them I'm still asking too I'm somewhere between annoyed angry and sad taking stock of the conversations we've had I started because folks around me tuned out I couldn't sit quietly watching it play out I wrote through the anger the worry the doubt then questioned if anything good had come out but I reached more people than I ever expected it's time that part of the story's reflected The older generations see what I see they've history benind them and questions like me we're tired of the bullshit we're tired of the spin the same old divisions repackaged again Some remember the warnings some lived through the fight for things we grew up simply calling a right now here we are learning what keeping them takes and how much gets lost when attention breaks October 31, 2026 AfterWonder • Adia in the Attic © 2026 1/4 After Wonder Same Attic. While they count I'm anxious there's the plain admission my back has filed its own petition tomorrow's coming ready or not I'd like to unclench the muscles I've got I voted already I did what I could my brain heard finished my heart misunderstood t's still at the window checking the view as though standing watch is a useful thing to do The ads keep explaining who's coming for me I'd like to unsubscribe from that delivery you've purchased my screen interrupted my sonc who gets a refund if all this is wrong They're counting seats I'm counting the cost of sleep and the trust we've so casually lost I hear the experts I'm glad they're there I still need the people to fit somewhere A child with homework a parent with rent somebody wondering where their paycheck went somebody working through pain you can't see put that on the map then explain it to me By midnight they'll point to the red and the blue I'll wonder how people inside those shapes do have they eaten or slept is there somebody there who knows when they're quiet it doesn't mean they don't care If counting takes time let the people count a speech won't settle the final amount I've lived long enough to know this is true the loudest in charge may be guessing like you Pull up a chair you've been standing too long no fee or subscription to know you belong you don't have to cheer you can sit here and stew I've done enough talking to cover us two Tomorrow they'll count and we'll wait as they do I'll still be concerned about people like you when somebody's finished declaring they won I'll ask how you're doing That work isn't done AfterWonder • Adia in the Attic © 2026
