crank-ish opinion I hold: most forewords should be afterwords. Forewords/introductions should give context but analysis should be in afterwords for the simple reason that when I'm reading a foreword I haven't read the book yet. Don't tell me about stuff that happens the book! I'm not there yet!

It's his "But her emails!" which people seemed embarrassed about afterwords but it's obvious in real-time and no one is really embarrassed, or not enough.
