Yes I think this is what people mean, but I personally still see it as a process in one direction, e.g.
hat(age40) -> bald(age45) -> hat(age46)
No bidirectionally because hat(age46)->bald(age45) is not possible.
Perhaps I'm thinking about time too much? But then time is so critical in analyses.
