It was a compromise because at the time there was no agegate to prevent accounts that were inappropriate for underage people from appearing in site search and the like. (We built that system later.)

He is a good man for many reasons, and supporting Israel's self-defense is one of them. Reasonable people know that self-defense is not genocide. Independent investigators have discredited Hamas' inflated civilian casualty count and reports of famine. Why don't you move on to agegate, already?

Where's the empirical work on the error rate on age estimation esp in poorly lit shops? I saw a cam agegate doing this in back of a supermarket in Germany to get to the liquor & thought oh dear.. worth remembering not all retail is online!
