I had a friend for three years I never talked politics with who turned out to secretly be a member of Identity Evropa and was connected to a series of racial terrorism incidents on his campus. He was arrested in Florida last month for trespassing and throwing his soiled underwear at a police officer

It’s 20F this morning and we have lots of ice. We also found out last night that SF author Howard Waldrop has passed away. He was one of the first authors I met years ago in college at Texas A&M when I was a student working on AggieCon. He was kind and funny and friendly, and his work was amazing.

Shon started making these circa 1988 (Jackalopes is I think from 1989) and we were selling them, along with hand-colored individual half-page pieces, at cons in Texas like the Dallas Fantasy Fair and Aggiecon to offset the trips.
(Shon & Brian were into trading model kits & tabled for those.)

The very first convention I worked, Aggiecon at my Alma mater, had Lani Tupu and Virginia Hey as the guests, plus they watched the finale with everyone. Lani was super nice.

I'm glad I'm safe. A wake up call for me. Sad my other plans may not go through. I wanted to table at aggiecon. Even if I get accepted I may cancel. :(
