yup. and aglianico and other modern greek varietals are pretty blue. ALSO, they probably fermented their juice like the georgians did, which is to say in large terra cotta urns they actually sunk into the ground for protection from the heat, so maybe "wine dark" also means no light or black

17-year old Aglianico. Unbelievable how youthful this still is. Quite elegant as well. And this is “just” the Irpinia. I think I’ll keep my hands off the Taurasi for another while. This is also ridiculously cheap for the quality you get.
