Nice to find the exceedingly rare Schistidium helveticum in the Ailnack gorge in the Cairngorms a couple of weeks ago,this and a site in a working quarry in wales is the only uk sites ,quality bryophyte indeed @bbsbryology.bsky.social

A nights camp at the top end of the Ailnack ravine ,pitched below the Castle,a huge Crumbling pinacle that has acquired the name of the castle, a remote site that has had no bryophyte searches 10.5.26🏴

Absolutely lovely Cushion of Grimmia Orbicularis growing on a boulder in the Ailnack gorge a couple of weeks ago,the only Cushion I seen in the Gorge in seven days , still better than none , a lovely hoary Grimmial species @bbsbryology.bsky.social
