Airbus is working hard on a hydrogen fuel-cell aeroplane for regional flights seating 100 passengers. One tidbit: since they already have very low temperatures to store liquid hydrogen on board, adding superconductivity is almost a no-brainer, dramatically reducing energy lost to heat.

Airbus has outlined its plans to prepare a next-generation single-aisle aircraft that could enter service in the second half of the 2030s.
