Pay attention to Trump. He's saying right out that the American government certification of aircraft will be determined by his whim, not by the airworthiness of the equipment. As long as he is President, buying American aircraft will be a crap shoot.

What kind of pilot would agree to fly a firefighting plane that has not passed an airworthiness inspection? It’s already a very dangerous job that requires high stress maneuvers on the aircraft.

Didn’t have a pilots license, and his lawn chair had no certificate of airworthiness.

Because of it a bunch of people quit that were in charge of maintaining the airworthiness of the An-24 among other planes.
The group that left were the most financially success and were talked with “maintaining the airworthiness of Soviet types of aircraft, such as An-24, An-26, and Russian helicopters”

That’s rather important.

Whose job is it to sign the airworthiness certificates? The UPS CEO?

I have a feeling that everyone in DoD is about to learn the difference between weather, the environment, & climate. Probably in the form of idiot who protests a plan to fix barracks, repair a pier, or address airworthiness of aircraft because it connects in some way to long-term climate change.
